BACKGROUND: Vernonia amygdalina is a native plant from Africa which widely distributed to Asia, especially in Indonesia. Parts of V. such as roots, leaves, and bark are used by the community traditional medicines antidiabetic, antibacterial, anticancer. AIM: This study aims show effect solvents stem extraction process on phytochemical’s content their correlation with pharmacological activities. METHODS: extract this was obtained using maceration method different solvents. The extracts were investigated for total phenolic (TPC) flavonoids (TFC) calorimetry assay. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) grouping based Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) data. RESULTS: There significantly TPC flavonoid (p < 0.05). ethyl acetate identified have highest TPC, TFC, DPPH, ABTS, values 3.61 ± 0.03 mg GAE/g dry powder, 25.12 0.09 QE/g 27.12 0.65 μg/mL, 67.02 0.23 33.83 0.82 respectively supported PCA analysis shows that there differences FTIR data strong between TFC antioxidant CONCLUSIONS: report each gives distinct profile (TPC, spectrum) contributes activity.
